THE CHALLENGE:
A potential client came to me with the idea of making a pin to resemble a lilypad. The customer had recently visited the Botanic Gardens and fell in love with the idea of creating a pin that would simulate the lilypad and it's flowers. The client wanted to include three amethyst stones that she owned.
THE JOURNEY:
I showed the client preliminary drawings to determine size, shape, texture and stone location, in addition to metal choice and budget. I showed the client the lilypad wax model for final approval before the final pin was cast in metal. I wanted my client to have the opportunity to see the actual wax model so that the final pin would be exactly as the wax model; no surprises.
THE SOLUTION:
Through collaboration of design, the client and I successfully created a one of a kind lilypad pin exactly as envisioned by the satisfied client, and myself. The pin measures approximately 2" with a satin finish, and bezel set stones set an agle to replicate the leaves of the flowers.
